KIRN GALA
The Dunoon local organising committee have been busy fund raising and promoting the Mod at the Kirn Gala evening on the run up to the Cowal Highland Gathering. The tombola stall and children’s lucky dip was very popular and also gave an opportunity to recruit some volunteers for Mod week.
Traditional music and some lovely Gaelic singing was provided by Jemma Johnson accompanied by John Kelly.

Beinn Lee Ceilidh
After a fantastic successful fundraising Ceilidh with Gunna Sound (and thanks to all who braved the snow to attended) The Dunoon Mod Committee are absolutely delighted to announce that our ceilidh on the 15th June will feature one of Scotland’s top up and coming traditional bands from Uist in the Outer Hebrides the six -piece band Beinn Lee.
Formed in 2013, the band are rooted in the west coast style of traditional music. The collective inheritance of Gaelic song and west coast pipe music provide a very strong traditional backbone to their music, but the music is infused with contemporary compositions, self-penned tunes, and a mix of songs from Gaelic to pop and country.
Currently gaining an awesome reputation for their West-coast music with traditional and contemporary tunes and songs the Beinn Lee ceilidh band will be appearing at many Music Festivals this year including the ‘Gig at theGathering’ on the 24th August at the Cowal Highland Gathering .
The ceilidh will take place in Dunoon Burgh Hall on Friday 15th June!
